Announced under the label ‘avant-folk from Australia’, be kind festival made me notice Jessie Monk. Jessie's strong songwriting and vocals are partly reminiscent of an early Joni Mitchell and yet have a character all of their own. Fabiana Striffler on violin and Paul Santner on double bass also deliver flawless vocals that complement the performance. This song captures the joyful essence of the evening for me, while the whole album Continually Becoming is wonderful.
